Dr Jon is passionate about providing fun, efficient, dental care to children in a way that does not push them. He grew up in Raleigh and graduated from UNC. He lived abroad for over 8 years in Mexico, Spain, Puerto Rico, Colombia and the rest of Central and South America. He and his wife, Lisbeth have a son and speak Spanish to him at home.
He enjoyed teaching to children in Spain in an English Academy and used that experience to help while treating pediatric patients. Although he graduated as a general dentist, he went back later to finish a pediatric dental residency in New York where he did training in complex pediatric dentistry patients, safety, sedation, behavior management and orthodontics. Although not an Orthodontist, he did training with the Orthodontics Department and treated full brace cases during dental pediatric residency. Having treated over 500 patients with braces has helped him integrate braces into the pediatric dental office.
Dr Jon helped to create a volunteer Dental office, WakeSmiles in Raleigh. He has volunteered in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Costa Rica and Honduras. He has also presented on pediatric restorations in Latin America in English and Spanish at:
2019 - International Association of Paediatric Dentistry - Mexico
2020 - Latin America Assocation of Pediatric Dentists - El Salvador
2025 International Association of Paediatric Dentistry - South Africa
