Dr. Rankin taught and coached in public schools of Virginia and North Carolina for 5 years. He was accepted to the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry where he was elected President of the Student body his senior year (It was during this period that UNC School of Dentistry was recognized as the #1 School in the nation.

Dr. Rankin began his practice in Statesville, NC and practiced there for 44+ years before "retiring". He has stayed active in dentistry by assisting another Pediatric Dentist in Winston-Salem, NC. He is looking forward to meeting the children of Gaston and surrouding counties as he assists The Frickin' awesome Dentists and Pediatric Dentists of Purple Tooth Dental.
