Preventive Care

We all are well aware of the golden sayings “prevention is better than cure” and “it’s cheaper to prevent it than to fix it.” But the question is, how many parents encourage their kids to implement this in their healthcare routine? The answer is very few

Braces

We are specialized in offering you all types of braces according to your needs, metal or clear.

Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry utilizes medication and or gas to help you relax during all dental procedures. Just relax, while we take great care of you.

Emergency Dentistry

Tooth pain comes anytime without any warning. We are here to help you in all emergency needs.
We offer extended hours and weekend.

Sealants

Protect against cavities: Dental Sealants help protect a child’s (or even adult’s) teeth from cavities by covering the top of their tooth with a “tooth-colored” plastic that makes it difficult for bacteria to remain on a tooth. As a result of the dental sealants, the bacteria cannot attack the enamel of the tooth.

Restorative Care

Our clinic uses high-quality crowns as we don’t want our patients to face any problems in the future. Dental crowns provide reliability and longevity when restoring the severely decayed tooth.

Pediatric Dental FAQs

It is recommended to schedule a general check-up with our Pediatric Dentist as soon as your child gets their first tooth and no later than their first birthday.

We see children much earlier than that too (just days after birth even), especially if a parent and or another healthcare professional have a concern, from tongue tie, lactation issues, speech therapy concerns, or cleft, just to name a few examples.

During the first visit, you will get some information about dental care. The Purple Tooth Dentist will check your kid’s teeth placement and overall oral health and look for any potential problems with the gums and jaw. Then we have our transparency promise, where we only treatment plan what is needed, only treat what was planned, and only charge for what was treated.

It is one of the main concerns that bother parents a lot. All you have to do is maintain a positive attitude and never say anything negative about your experience at the dentist. You can also show your kid the images of our dental office and refer to some of our amazing video tutorials on the website (coming soon).

Purple Tooth generally recommends scheduling checkups every six months. However, depending on the circumstances of your kid’s oral health, we may suggest more frequent visits (i.e. braces).

According to dental experts, it is suggested to clean the gums with a damp, soft washcloth after feeding. Choose a toothbrush with soft bristles and a small head if teeth are present.

Preventive Care

Preventive care is important to the overall development of a child’s dental health, especially at an early age. By practicing good oral hygiene at home and scheduling regular dental checkups, your child can keep their smile bright and healthy for life.

Some Useful Oral Health Care Tips:
• Brushing Time
Ensure your child brushes their teeth regularly (two minutes, twice a day). If the child knows how to tie their shoes by themselves without help, they are ready to brush their teeth by themselves too.

• Selection Of Toothbrush
Make sure that your kid uses a soft-bristled toothbrush to protect their enamel and gums.

• Choice Of Toothpaste
Any ADA approved/endorsed toothpaste is acceptable. It is suggested to use fluoridated toothpaste to remove plaque and food particles from the tooth surfaces.

See images below for how much paste to dispense and age.

• Don’t Forget To Brush the Tongue’s Top Surface
Let your little “purple star” have a fresh breath by teaching them to brush the tongue’s top surface too. It will remove any extra plaque that can lead to oral disease.

• Avoid Sugary Treats
Ensuring your child eats a balanced diet that includes raw vegetables, plain yogurt, fruit, or cheese can help keep your child’s smile healthy.

Try to avoid sugary treats such as chocolates, candies, and ice cream, though. Treat these like a cheat meal and be mindful of consistency (sticky and sugary foods are worse).

It is advised to schedule regular checkups with your child’s Purple Tooth Dentist every 6 months for professional teeth cleaning.

Brushing Instructions:

Step 1: Place your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle to your gum.
Step 2: Brush gently yet firm in a circular motion.
Step 3: Brush the outer (by the cheek), inner (by the tongue), and chewing surfaces (top) of each tooth.
Step 4: Use the tip of your brush for the inner surface of your front teeth.

Flossing Instructions:

Step 1: Spare about 18 inches of floss around your fingers as shown. Most of it should be wrapped around one finger, and the other finger takes it up as the floss is used.
Step 2: Use your thumbs and forefingers to guide about one inch of floss between your teeth.
Step 3: Hold the floss tightly and gently place it between your teeth. Then curve the floss into a C-shape against one tooth and gently slide it beneath your gums.
Step 4: Slide the floss up and down, repeating for each tooth.

Sealants

Useful to any age
Even if you brush twice a day, that does not mean that the teeth are completely safe from developing cavities. The grooves in a tooth are a place where bacteria love to sit and attack the tooth. The average toothbrush is unable to get deep in these grooves, so the bacteria is Not removed no matter how often you brush. Dental sealants are an extra layer of protection to make sure each tooth stays as healthy as possible.

Quick and Painless Process
Applying dental sealants is a relatively fast and pain-free process. First our Purple Tooth Dental Team will clean the tooth and apply a sticky solution so that the sealant can bind tightly to the tooth. Next, we will coat the tooth with a sealant and use a light to harden it. The drying process will take just a few seconds and then the tooth is sealed! dental sealants

Long Lasting
Dental sealants can last up to 10 years depending on the brushing patterns and eating patterns. That is a long time to have a highly reduced chance of tooth decay!

Saves Money on Future Cavities
Filling cavities can cost almost 4 times as much as placing dental sealants. Many dental plans also cover dental sealants. Why pay more and have to drill a tooth for fillings in the future when a tooth can be protected in a non-invasive method with dental sealants now? Schedule an appointment with Purple Tooth Dental today!
